Join Date Sep Posts 1, Did you try to take the posession of the files that you want to remove from the Windows XP system. All you need to do is just turn off simple file and sharing to get the rights. I have followed that as well. I then tried to fixboot again but there was no change. I am going to check to get the ownershipt again even though I think that I have got everything right. But if you have many folders, it will take a long time… if so check solution 3. This solution is very fast but is a bit technical as well… cause you need to use the command prompt cmd to use this solution.
