Aside from the slightly manipulative and slightly unrealistic teens, the characters were likable hero and heroine were two nice, attractive characters , and there was plenty of steam.

Actually, I didn't even mind the two teens too much, though they did strike me as Stepford Teens. My main issue was there just wasn't a lot of conflict - two perfect people who are perfect for each other, with no real reason not to get toget I liked it, though I am not a huge fan of "parent trap" type stories.

My main issue was there just wasn't a lot of conflict - two perfect people who are perfect for each other, with no real reason not to get together, so I never really worried for them.

This did reduce the impact of the book for me and made it a little dull, overall, though a lot of readers will likely find the perfection of all the characters adds to the sweetness of the romance.

Biggest plus for me, the heroine is mature and responsible, and the hero is honourable and lovable, so the sexism one often finds in romance is simply not present in this book. If stupid heroines and he-men heroes keep you away from many romances, this book might be great for you.

I could understand why these two liked each other, which made the love story realistic. I would certainly read more from this author because of this. And def i would've loved more sex scene but over all this book was a good read.

Feb 01, Wsb rated it really liked it. Really great story line. To sum it up Tiffany and Marcus both have single overbearing parents. They decided to hook them up so that they could spend their time on each other instead of being helicopter parents.

It worked out. The end. A few issues I had with this book: -I've said it before and I'll say it again, this author does not know how to write with a voice of a young person. The things that she had these teenagers saying were simply laughable. Sometimes this made it difficult to concentra Really great story line. Sometimes this made it difficult to concentrate. Who has an affair? In this century, people just hook up and have sex. In these books there's always some long drawn out proposition about "we should have an affair" or "we can't have an affair" or "we're not having an affair" or my favorite "what if we did have an affair".

Who talks like that? The drawn out nature of it takes away from the story. She really thought that she should spend the rest of her life alone and lonely in order to set an example for her daughter. She didn't need a man, she needed a psychologist. Her insistence that she and Chance simply couldn't be together was just crazy.

It added to the story line that I loved though so I guess I won't complain. View 2 comments. Jul 19, SassyMama rated it it was amazing. SEXY and sometimes serious story of love, romance and family issues I enjoy Tiffany and Marcus and their all antics to get their parents together I'm looking forward to continuing with this series to see which Steel will bend to love next?!!! Apr 18, A. Jones rated it it was ok. Sweet, but too predictable.

Jul 31, Limecello added it Shelves: library , , hoopla-audiobook. I can't actually really remember if I finished this audiobook on the 20th or 21st; either way it'd have been right in the wee hours. This is actually a book where I enjoyed the matchmaking by the kids. Maybe 37? I can't remember now [I've also started book 2 so maybe he's 38 in book 2? I did like it but not LOVE it - some of the kid stuff was eyeroll - but I liked how they involved the uncle s.

He throws a fit. Her parents throw a fit. Turns out, There is a clause in her Grandfather's will that states she has to be married to own the land. Jason has the proposal for them to get married. That way, She ge I don't know what is it about the male characters in Brenda Jackson's books, but I find them annoying, and overbearing.

The storyline was decent enough and the characters were easy to get to know which I liked. Now, Solid Soul. Out of the three, this one was probably the best one. Best friends, Tiffany and Marcus devise a pretty convincing scheme to bring their single parents together in what they hope gets them to dating each other. Chance finds a letter from Tiffany to Marcus accepting Marcus's request to skipping classes at school. The letter is a fake, but that brings Chance to Kylie's florist shop where the romance begins for them.

This was very much like one of my favorite childhood movies, The Parent Trap. The sex was still too much in this book. The sex scenes are hot, but one sex scene blended into another, using the exact words that described the previous sex scene.

Brenda Jackson's writing is amateurish and repetitive. Her vocabulary doesn't seem to stretch very far. Her favorite words are: desire, tangling, and mating. I say favorite because she uses them over and over in different parts of the story. And Yes, Chance was annoying and overbearing.
